Every file you upload to a file server (or to a distributed storage) is uploaded in an encrypted form. Tresorit guarantees that every user who has permission to a particular file can calculate the encryption keys efficiently (practically in some milliseconds), but only authorized users can do this. Tresorit provides the same interface as ACL (Access Control Lists) based systems, but using Tresorit ensures that neither Tresorit’s or the storage provider’s administrator, nor the hacker who attacks the file server can read the content of the file.
